30 To Infinity came about as an idea back in November 20th, 2018 when Sharlet turned 27. Growing up, she was privileged to be raised by parents who were and still are givers. She remembers the numerous trips she made with her mother to the children orphanages like Nyumbani Children's' home for the HIV orphans, Nyumba Ya Wazee for the elderly and many other homeless shelters in Kenya, as well as the many distant relatives and friends that her father would open their home to. Therefore, she had a strong urge to dedicate her 27th birthday to feed 30 needy people every month. Her and her husband Elly would save up $1 a day for this initiative and at the end of every month, they would order 30 burgers and head to Downtown Dallas to feed the homeless. Out of all the visits, meeting Marco on this hot summer afternoon is what triggered them to start a Nonprofit! They had the intention of making it to Joel Osteen’s church, but were running extremely late. In return, for the guilt that was biting them for missing out on the service, they then decided to drive around Downtown Houston to feed the homeless. Marco was by the road side on a wheelchair holding a placard that read “Water please!”. It moved their hearts because unlike other homeless people, he wasn’t asking for money or food. He narrated to them his life history and how he came about to be homeless. His story sounded exactly like the ones they'd heard from the other homeless people they'd met the prior months. This was a wake up call that showed them that there was a big need to assist such people in this world. In 2019, they officially registered a Nonprofit Organization called 30 To Infinity as they have the goal of serving the "Infinity". Sharlet and her team have been able to have multiple charity events in Texas and Kenya. They target vulnerable groups like the homeless, teen moms, single moms and young adults who are less fortunate.
